Xtensive Ltd was founded in 2008 and is a small IT company with a huge expanse of knowledge and experience.

Initially started by Colin Thomas when redundancy loomed from the Automobile Association where he had worked for 20 years.

Colin's wide knowledge of IT covers areas such as Programming, web design, business analysis, IT Consultancy, PC hardware and software support and networking.
 
Xtensive Ltd is also very fortunate to have some additional very knowledgable programmers on hand to assist at busy times.

The 5 main areas that we specialise in are Web Design, eCommerce, Bespoke Systems, Internet Marketing and Social Media, although various other areas of IT complete our portfolio of services.
 
Web design has been carried out by our staff since the early 90’s and we as a company have a vast knowledge of internet technologies.  Our experience has carried us down the route of CMS (content management systems) in particular using the industry strength Joomla platform for the bulk of our web design on the Linux platform.  On the windows platform we are creating bespoke .net solutions for our clients.

In 2010, we partnered with Big Commerce to provide low cost, high quality and fully featured eCommerce solutions. This partnership and partnerships with payment providers has built up and allowed us to create some very secure solid and highly successful e-commerce solutions for our clients.
 
Another of our areas of specialisation is bespoke IT systems.  These are systems designed and created to our clients requirements.  Our bespoke systems, both online or client/server based are Windows .net solutions using all the latest Microsoft technologies.  We also integrate into software solutions using Microsoft Dynamics products and Sharepoint tools.  
 
Microsoft have endorsed us on their Bizspark scheme, which gives us access to the best resources and partners across the Microsoft community, giving Xtensive a head start in our early years.

 
The other area of particular specialisation is Internet Marketing, for which we are qualified Internet Marketing Professionals.  This is an ever expanding area of business, as our clients have the need to gain as high a position on Google and the other search engines as possible organically. We provide optimisation techniques that have been hard learned and are highly effective.  We also provide guidance on pay-per-click advertising and provide quality Analytics data to our clients.  We have invested in this area over the last year as we consider Internet Marketing to be a vital part of giving our clients the edge.
 
We have a vast knowledge of IT Hardware, server and PC support, Hosting on Microsoft and Linux Platforms, email, domains, project management, Database design and IT Consultancy, and provide all these services ourselves or through our partner providers.  
 
iPhone and iPad development is one of our latest additions to our portfolio and is an area we will be moving forward with over the next year.
 
Our Clients are in various business sectors, including Retail, Finance, Industrial, Manufacturing, Leisure, Sport, Catering and Transport.
 
Whilst recognising that Xtensive’s primary role is of technological expertise and experience, we have always understood that this works most effectively by us taking the time to fully understand our Clients Business and the business processes that the IT systems will support.
